This morning I was checking my comments for this blog, and found these two questions from Tom LeDree. Tom is a blogging friend of mine, Tom LeDree.com Free Daily Inspirations, is his blog.

I know Tom from MyBlogLog. He saw my post on Protien in my Vegetarian Diet - Made Easy. Tom asked me two question we all would have, so it gave me the idea to post about A Simple Start For a LifeStyle.

Tom wrote…

This is really interesting. I have been thinking for a long time to become a vegetarian. The only problems I see with it for me are

1) Not knowing what meals to make

2) I regularly go round other peoples house for dinner and they would probably have to cook me something different to everyone else. Which I’m sure would annoy them!

Same questions I had, and many other’s thinking about going vegetarian I’m sure. I have been a vegetarian for about 15 years now, and was a body builder for most of it. I’ve recently started doing some more exploring as to what I want to add to my vegetarian menu.

I currently don’t get much of a thrill out of cooking as I do with doing Art and Blogging.
I am actually searching the net for blogs about what is good for us as vegetarians and meals we can make, food to consider adding to our lifestyle.

My diet is very simple, I would like to add more to it, more variety, not a lot but more. Like I said I don’t get a big thrill out of cooking, maybe you do.
I did enjoy helping to cook when I was married, but that is a different kind of experience. I am learning how cooking for myself can be a way of being loving and kind to myself, a Buddhist thing, loving kindness, we often forget to include ourself.

Right now I fix rice with black beans, or a potato or sweet potato with black beans or some sliced up an sauteed carrots, jalapenos and spinach. Plus I have carrots, brocoli, apples, bananas, sunflower seeds and peanuts in the house to munch on.

More and more though I have my Green Drinks, juice with a banana, spinach and blueberries, 2 -3 a day. You can Play with different juices, but the bananas and spinach are the base, then add other types of berries nuts, chard, cucumbers, etc…Put them all in a blender, blend and drink. Simple, easy and Great for us. A real [tag]SuperFood[/tag] !

Along with this I have Mangosteen Juice, 2-3 cap fulls a day, and two cap fulls a day of a Vitamin & Mineral Supreme 19 liquid I get from Hi Health. Hi Health ask for Eileen, 1-800-266-2323

Spirulina I have used for years, and use everyday too.

***Update, no longer using Mangosteen Juice or the Vitamin/Mineral Supreme 19. I am staying on with Spirulina though and adding FrequenSea, Marine Phytoplankton. Marine Phytoplankton has over 200+ micro algae. Where Spirulina is only one form and is a freshwater plant. - Marine Phytoplankton is over 400 times more Powerful than anything else on the planet. The Marine Phytoplankton rebuilds us at a cellular level. You can read more here about FreqeunSea, Marine Phytoplankton.

Here is a list of Super Foods by The Vegan Diet, that is very helpful.

Eating out

When I eat out, I usually have a bean burrito with halapinos and lots of salsa, or a veggy burger, cause I just like to keep it simple. Ok I Love Chines and Tia too ! There are salads and many many other choices, going to a veggy restaurant helps, but many restaurants are veggy conscious now and have at least a small selection. With friend’z who are’nt vegetarian you might be able to rotate going to a veggy restaurant one time and the next time to a restaurant of there choice.

I have trained with weights for many years and researched a lot about how to eat for gaining mass and lowering body fat. From this I have learned that having 4, 5 to 6 smaller meals a day is far better for our bodies.

Eating at your friend’z homes, yes bit unconvertable at first, but good friends adjust quickly. I started by just eating the veggy’s they had with the meal. Then I started bringing something with me. Once they learn you are vegetarian, when they ask you for dinner they will usually ask what they could fix for you, very nice of them !

I am enjoying a search for what I would like to add to my vegetarian live, so I have started compiling a list of veggy blogs and websites for myself and everyone to discovering new ideas. I will be gathering some Video’s to so check back.

My suggestion, enjoy a mix of vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan, to live in a state of Super Health !!!******

Thank you for your question Tom, hope this helps you and others !
If anyone has more questions, let me know.

Many Blessing’s My Friend’z !!!******
